Memento Dementia Game

Our Young Enterprise team mission was to help those with dementia reminisce and reconnect. Our product is a block and card based game which, through the stimulation of long term memory, helps those with dementia connect with others, including family and loved ones. It has been specially designed to ensure that it is dementia friendly, with tactile, colourful blocks that can be easily manoeuvred for those with dexterity problems, as well as vibrant cards which can be read easily.

As Operations Manager I was responsible for overseeing the design and development of our product, as well as manufacturing. This included in-house batch production (woodwork) and outsourced additive manufacturing (3D printing), following correspondence with manufacturers globally. I took point on product development, responsible for the design and manufacture of the 'blocks' component of our block and card based game.

We reached the YE national finals, having won the South West regional Company of the Year award. While we didn't win the overall national title, we won the award for 'Pursuit of Opportunity' sponsored by Delta Airlines, and are immensely proud of our product and all the hard work put in.
